چکیده

A very important problem in the research of layer structures is modeling cracks on material interface. Due to complex physical and mechanical properties this structure, simulation discontinuities such as interface by traditional finite element methods requires a fine mesh density. Furthermore, smoothing really large amount computational resources. Therefore, extended algorithm which does not require remeshing technique was born solve crack problems. In paper, consecutive-interpolation method (XCFEM) employed mix-mode between two dissimilar isotropic materials. The XCFEM using 4-node quadrilateral (XCQ4) provides continuity nodal gradient due concept “consecutive-interpolation” so that stress strain fields derived from XCQ4 smoother than obtained classical FEM element. accuracy effectiveness are demonstrated via various numerical examples compared with other researches.

Analysis of 2-dimensional transient problems for linear elastic and piezoelectric structures using the consecutive-interpolation quadrilateral element (CQ4)

The recently developed consecutive-interpolation procedure (CIP) based 4-node quadrilateral element (CQ4) is used to study free and forced 2-dimensional vibrations of elastic and piezoelectric structures of complex geometries. For some of these problems results have also been computed with the standard quadrilateral element under the constraint that the two approaches have the same number of de...

an extended finite element (xfem) approach for crack analysis in composite media

a new approach is proposed to model a crack in orthotropic composite media using the extended finite element method (xfem). the xfem uses the concept of partition of unity in addition to meshless basic idea of approximating a field variable by its values at a set of surrounding nodes. as a result, higher order approximations can be designed with the same total number of degrees of freedom. in t...

Oscillatory Singularity Behaviors Near Interface Crack Tip for Mode II of Orthotropic Bimaterial

The fracture behaviors near the interface crack tip for mode II of orthotropic bimaterial are discussed. The oscillatory singularity fields are researched. The stress functions are chosen which contain twelve undetermined coefficients and an unknown singularity exponent. Based on the boundary conditions and linear independence, the system of twelve nonhomogeneous linear equations is derived. Ac...
